Aerospace Medicine Symposium
Aeromedical Evacuation - The Movement of Patients by Air
The Aerospace Medicine Group's annual Symposium is not only a great opportunity for delegates to network but the content is of such value to its participants, that Continued Professional Development Points (CPD) are normally awarded.
The 2012 Aerospace Medicine Symposium will comprise of two half day themes. The morning sessions will address military aeromedical evacuation aspects including providing emergency care in the air, the challenges of providing military air transport to meet the needs of the Aeromedical Evacuation and high quality, rapid movement of patients.
The afternoon sessions will look to address civilian aspects of aeromedical evacuation. The Symposium will encompass current issues in the delivery of emergency airborne movement of the acutely ill (e.g. air ambulance, military medical emergency response team), and planned movements of patients including
those requiring critical (intensive) care.
Lessons learned from recent conflicts will be at the forefront of the information presented throughout the day, in addition to future challenges and technologies.
