Will Air Transport be Fully Automatised by 2050?
 - 2 June 2016, Meteo-France, Toulouse

This conference will continue work begun in three previous conferences organised by AAE, on the themes of “Aircraft and ATM Automation” in 2005, “Air transport pilots faced with the unexpected” in 2011 and “Flying in 2050” in 2012. The conference will take an in-depth look into the possible limits of this evolution within the 2050 timeline.

The British-Irish Airports Expo
8 - 9 June 2016, NEC Birmingham

The British-Irish Airports EXPO is a dynamic, free to attend show providing an invaluable showcasing platform for leading airport industry suppliers and service providers, both large and small. In addition to the biggest Expo of its kind in the region, the British-Irish Airports EXPO will include a leading conference, a tour of Birmingham Airport, and a Gala Party that will live long in the memory.



British Science Festival
6 - 9 September 2016, Swansea University

We are pleased to announce that nominations for the annual Award Lectures and the call for proposals for the British Science Festival 2016 are now open.

The British Science Festival returns to Swansea University from 6-9 September 2016, and is a national platform to showcase cutting-edge science, celebrate latest scientific developments and engage in open discussion about issues that affect our culture and society.

Help us curate a vibrant programme of events! There are no restrictions on the call for proposals; anyone can propose an event – individuals, researchers, organisations or academic institutions from all over the UK. Events can be talks, debates or discussions for a public audience.

Do you know a promising early career researcher and scientist? Nominate them for an Award Lecture.

30th Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences
25 - 30 September 2016

ICAS is an international, non-government, non-profit scientific organization with the mission to advance knowledge and facilitate collaboration in aeronautics. ICAS is the only international support organization to representative aeronautical engineering professional societies and their members in 30 countries. ICAS organizes every two years an International Congress covering all aspects of aeronautical science and technology and their application to both military and civil aviation.

6th EASN Conference
18-21 October 2016, Porto, Portugal

In 2016, for the first time, the European Aeronautics Science Network will convene In Portugal. The 6th International Conference of EASN will be co-organised with the Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (INEGI) of the University of Porto (FEUP). 

The 6th EASN International Conference is set to be the larger, broader and most comprehensive gathering of the Association. It is designed to be the year’s leading forum for discussion and exchange of information about state-of-the-art research and development activities in Aeronautics and Air Transport.

The conference will include Plenary Sessions by renowned speakers and Open Discussions with distinguished researchers from the industry and academia.

It will also include Thematic Sessions housing the majority of current European aeronautics research programs and Technical Workshops where evolving ideas, technologies, products, services and processes will be discussed. Until now, among others the following Thematic Workshops have been confirmed: Workshop on N.D.T., Workshop on Surface Phenomena, Workshop on Aircraft Design / Flight, Workshop on SHM Maintenance, Workshop on Propulsion & Engines, Workshop on Aerostructures. In this respect, the Conference is expected to foster the cooperation and interaction between its participants on a multidisciplinary basis serving as a meeting for exchanging novel and innovative ideas for future research.

The 2016 EASN Conference will be a flagship event in dissemination of aeronautics research activities and our goal is to share high quality, current achievements and new upstream research ideas. The Call for Papers is out now.
