Become a Member

There is a place in membership for anyone in, or interested in the aeronautical or aerospace sector. Anyone can join on-line as an Affiliate to receive membership benefits immediately and then apply for an up-grade when you are ready. Students can also join on-line.

There are other grades of membership with different educational and work experience requirements. See the diagram below and click on one of the tabs on the left to determine which one is right for you.

If you live in  Australia, New ZealandPakistan or South Africa you may also apply via your local Division.

Applying for Membership

Applications are considered by Committee every two months and closing dates for applications for 2012 are:

  • 1 June 2012 (grading committee meets on 27 June 2012)
  • 10 August 2012 (grading committee meets on 5 September 2012)
  • 12 October 2012 (grading committee meets on 7 November 2012)

You will be notified as soon as possible to let you know the outcome, normally within 2 weeks. Successful candidates will be emailed with advice about the amount to be debited from the credit/debit card given with the application. A Diploma confirming your election is sent once payment has been collected.

Unsuccessful candidates will receive feedback and encouragement to re-apply where appropriate. Candidates who are dissatisfied with the decision are entitled to appeal.

Fees

Current members are encouraged to pay by Direct Debit to pay your annual subscriptions; please complete the Direct Debit mandate form and post it to the Society.
