Aerospace Partnership

Aerospace demands the highest standards of professionalism and the ever increasing competitive pressures to achieve world class performance are bringing renewed emphasis on the need for professional development on the part of aerospace practitioners of all disciplines. The professional institutions have a responsibility to respond to this need in a coordinated manner and indeed play a vital role in the development of all disciplines involved.

The Aerospace Partnership has been formed from the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). It aims to harmonise the various strengths of the constituent Institutions in devising and implementing their programmes of activities in support of the aerospace community. This will encompass such activities as conferences, lectures, courses, information services, publications and public affairs. The harmonisation process will aim to avoid conflict or duplication of events, to promote joint ventures wherever this is advantageous and to maximise the visibility of such activities to the widest possible audience.

Below are the co-sponsored events from the IET, the IMechE and other organisations.

ICAS 2010: 27th Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences
19-24 September 2010
Nice, France
Announcement & Call for Papers

The challenges facing aeronautics have changed and are continuing to change. Today, a difficult global economic situation combined with growing concerns over climate change is increasing political awareness of aviation and is setting the research agenda for the next decade. It has never been more important for the benefits of aviation to be communicated to politicians, decision makers, leaders of industry and the general public.

In an intensely competitive world facing differential resource scarcities, international collaboration becomes increasingly important. The ICAS Congress provides a unique forum for scientists and engineers, researchers and designers, manufacturers and managers and university faculty and students from all over the world to meet, to learn, to debate, to share ideas and technical information and to build those relationships that are critically important to the advancement of our profession and our industry.

Authors are invited to submit abstracts before 31 July 2009. www.icas.org
