In January 1956 the Christchurch Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society was formed with an initial membership of 146, primarily de Havilland employees working at what was previously the old Airspeed factory.
The Royal Aeronautical Society was formed in 1866, so 2016 brought the Society’s 150th anniversary and an opportunity to celebrate achievement and excellence and to look ahead to the next 50 years of innovation in aerospace.
