A unique occasion to mark the sesquicentenary of the Royal Aeronautical Society and celebrate 150 years of innovation in aerospace and aviation. The Gala Banquet will be hosted at Guildhall, a rare and magnificent medieval Grade 1 listed landmark located in the heart of the City of London. This event offers the opportunity to entertain clients, meet old friends and network at a senior level with fellow guests from all sectors of the aerospace community.

Guest of Honour: HRH Prince Michael of Kent, GCVO, FRAeS
During a military career that spanned twenty years the Prince saw service in Germany, Hong Kong and Cyprus and subsequent tours of duty included a number of appointments on the Defence Intelligence Staff. Now as chairman of his own private company, he offers specialist consultancy advice to a number of commercial concerns operating in countries and in sectors in which he himself has a close interest and wide experience, including the aviation and automotive industries. In addition to his business commitments, he devotes a high proportion of his time to the support of a large number of non-profit-making charities, institutes, trade associations, societies and health organisations.

Guest Speaker: Per Lindstrand, FRAeS, Aeronautical Engineer, Pilot and Pioneer/Adventurer
Per Lindstrand has world-wide recognition for his achievements in breaking through the boundaries of lighter-than-air technology. He is particularly known for his series of record-breaking trans-oceanic hot air balloon flights and for his attempts to be the first to fly a Rozière balloon around the earth with Sir Richard Branson. Per not only flies balloons, but all other aircraft as well having an airline transport pilot’s licence for single and multi-engined land and sea aeroplanes and helicopters, and a commercial pilot’s licence for auto-gyros, airships and gliders. He is the founder and inspirer of Lindstrand Technologies and has received numerous awards for achievement and his outstanding contribution to the aeronautical industry.
