FRANÇOIS CAUDRON has been nominated Senior Vice President, Head of Marketing at Airbus as of 1st June, 2015. In this position he is responsible for understanding and influencing the market to ensure Airbus’ competitiveness and enabling successful business acquisition.
Prior to this, he was Airbus Vice President Programme Procurement, a position he held since 2014. In this position he was representing all the Programmes (A320, A330, A350, A380, A400M) inside the Procurement organisation and was the primary interface with programmes.
In 2007, François was appointed Vice President Customer & Business Development, A350 XWB Programme. In this role he represented the A350 XWB Programme in front of customers and created a new approach to customization for the A350 XWB.
Previously, François has been Vice President Pricing, Airbus Commercial Directorate, accountable for the “Value Pricing” method for Airbus products (aircraft, options, upgrade services) and participating in the definition of the commercial strategy, sales objectives and business rationales.
Between 1996 and 2001 he was holding management positions at Altior-Groupe Altran, Paris (High Technology Consulting Services) as Account Manager and at Shell Aviation Ltd., London, as Business Manager for Lubricants & Specialties, where he was accountable for the worldwide business of turbine engine oils. In 2001, he moved back to Airbus as Regional Contracts Director for Middle East and North Africa Region where he negotiated and executed several aircraft purchases within the A320 and A330 families.
Before starting his career in 1990 as Customer Engineer Manager at Airbus Industries in France, François graduated from the University of Liège, Belgium as Electromechanical Engineer (Aerospace). François also achieved a M-Sc in Aerospace Vehicle Design at the College of Aeronautics at Cranfield, UK, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Aerodynamics from the Von-Karman Institute, Belgium.
Born in 1965, François Caudron is married with two children. In his free time he is a keen sportsman, playing golf, being a French Sailing Federation instructor and enjoying mountaineering.
