At SSTL Oli’s team produce 3-4 propulsion systems a year, covering everything from cold gas systems for 100kg platforms up to full bi-propellant systems for 3 Tonne geostationary spacecraft.

Mr Oli Lane, Propulsion Team Leader, Surrey Satellite Technology Services

Oli Lane is the Propulsion Team Leader at Surrey Satellite Technology, a manufacturer of small satellites, based in Guildford.

Oli graduated from the University of Bristol with a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering in 2006 and then joined Rolls-Royce’s Leadership Development Graduate scheme. In his six years at Rolls-Royce, Oli worked on RB199 engines in Ansty, Research & Technology in Singapore and later in Norway and spent several years working in Turbines on the Trent XWB 84 and 97k variants.

As well as his work for SSTL, Oli also chaired the industry body, the UK Space Propulsion Working Group.
