Matt is responsible for directing the sales team to create opportunities and conduct successful capture to generate order intake and revenue for UK ISR business including ISR offerings from other CBUs; he is individually responsible for capture of CROWSNEST.
Matt was Born in West Yorkshire and educated at Bradford Grammar School. After a series of sales roles, in 1986 he joined the Royal Navy to fly helicopters as an officer. He enjoyed 26 years in the Navy during which he deployed in support of operations for the Cold War, Gulf War 1, the conflict in the former Republic of Yugoslavia, counter-piracy and counter-narcotics operations in the Indian Ocean and finally he commanded the RN Sea King Force including in Afghanistan.
He was awarded an OBE in 2011 for leadership in Afghanistan and UK Search and Rescue.
Following a procurement role in MOD Whitehall, he joined Thales in 2012 as Head of Sales for the ISR sector. He has since been promoted to the role of ISR Sales Director.
