Martin-Baker were the pioneers in the design and manufacture of ejection seats. For over 65 years, the Company has been the world leader in ejector seat technology. To date Martin-Baker seats have saved 7489 lives. This talk will examine some of the more recent developments and refinements in this fascinating area.

James Pearce originally joined Martin-Baker on a one year Industrial Placement in the course of his Mechanical Engineering degree. On completing his MEng he returned to the Company as a permanent employee, working in the Design Support Dept on design evaluation and optimisation. His role included liaising with customers on support requirements and training. He subsequently moved into project management and now is the Integrated Project Leader interfacing with the Company’s major international customers, which include Lockheed Martin on the F35 programme.
