Realising Market Opportunities for Drones

18 October 2017 - 19 October 2017

No.4 Hamilton Place, London

Day 1 09:00 - 17:00

Day 2 09:00 - 17:00

For nearly 10 years Unmanned Aircraft have been seen, at least by some, as the major new growth sector in aviation. There have been major technological and regulatory developments, lots of experimentation and a host of small and medium scale commercial and state activity as well as significant military use of large and small drones. The number of Drones in the world is estimated to be several million and still increasing rapidly.

However, it is probably true that the efforts to achieve safe, routine operation and airspace integration were initially underestimated and growth has been slower than expected.

The conference will provide an overview of recent developments from the UK CAA, FAA, EASA and parallel activity within ICAO together with some compelling but disparate examples of operationally important and commercially successful applications.

We still need harmonised regulations, and to fully mitigate the risks to manned aircraft and ensure privacy of the citizen, but great progress is being made.

The conference will include presentations from the organisations that are leading these developments as well as those that are building commercial success upon the results. There will also be an update on the UK public perception of the regular use of drones.
