Reducing Aviation's Climate Change: The Legal Implications

30 November 2016

No.4 Hamilton Place, London

Seminar Highlight

The aviation industry has a long standing commitment to tackle its climate change impact having adopted a four pillar strategy based around technology, infrastructure and operations improvements as well as a global market based measure (MBM) to offset international aviation emissions after 2020.

This year’s ICAO Assembly is expected to result in an agreement on that global MBM.

This half day seminar will explore what has been agreed at ICAO and the consequences for aircraft operators. It will also discuss legal and political issues around the future implementation of the ICAO agreement, in particular in view of other national and regional approaches to covering aviation emissions.
