Lt Cdr Beth Kitchen RN has graciously agreed to provide a lecture on her experience of the F35. This will prove to an insightful account from first-hand experience of the most technically sophisticated aircraft ever procured and operated by British forces. The lecture will be centred around the operational testing on USS Wasp in May 15 , as such Lt Cdr Kitchen currently is the most experienced in ‘taking the F35 Lightening to Sea’ for fixed wing embarked aviation. This was a deployment of 6 x F-35B aircraft by the United States Marine Corps (supported by a team of 9 UK personnel). Lt Cdr Beth Kitchen assumed the role of Maintenance Evolutions Test Coordinator working directly for Commanding Officer VMX-22 (USMC Test Sqn). The event will start slightly earlier than usual with the doors opening at 1745.
