Written Paper Prizes

The Royal Aeronautical Society recognises the achievements, innovation and excellence of both individuals and papers by multiple authors.

The Written Paper Prizes are awarded for the best papers published in The Aeronautical Journal by the Society during the previous calendar year. The awards are of Gold, Silver and Bronze status and are normally presented at the Sopwith Lecture held at the Society.

These awards are not the subject of nominations but are selected by the RAeS Medals and Awards Committee and supported by the Editorial Board of The Aeronautical Journal.

Please note that there is also an award open to all authors under the age of 30 for papers on any Aerospace related subject. It is awarded by the Royal Aeronautical Society entitled "The Young Persons’ Written Paper Prize".
