The activities of the group cover the related interests of the airframe, engine, systems and equipment manufacturers during design, test and manufacture, as well as the in-service aspects of operation and maintenance.
The Society’s Avionics & Systems Group:
• Provides a forum for those involved in all aspects of the wide range of avionic and mechanical systems on manned and unmanned, fixed wing and rotary, civil and military aircraft
• Organises activities which cover the related interests of the airframe, engine, systems and equipment manufacturers during design, development, test and manufacture, as well as the in-service aspects of operation and maintenance.
Past conference topics have included developments in aircraft icing protection, avionics for advanced combat aircraft, reducing the hazardous effects of on-board fire and explosion, overcoming electronic component obsolescence, improving aircrew situational awareness and the design and integration of complex avionics systems.
The Group organises a seminars to consider key avionics related developments and contributes to a range of other specialist group events.
