Fellows must meet the requirements for Member (see Member page for details) and can also demonstrate that they meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Have made outstanding contributions in the profession of aeronautics
- Attained a position of high responsibility in the profession of aeronautics
- Have had long experience of high quality in the profession of aeronautics

Your application should include comprehensive information about your senior responsibilities, any publications, awards received or any outstanding contribution to field of aerospace or the Society. Those seeking to upgrade to Fellow should indicate their achievements since election to membership.
If you are a senior manager, please indicate the extent of your responsibility including staff, budget, technical area or any signatory authority.
Sponsorship of your application by two Fellows of the Society is required. If you are unable to find Fellows of the Society, you may use Fellows of other professional institutions. Where this is the case, you should include a letter of explanation.
Recommendations for Fellowship are approved by Council so notification will normally take approximately one month from the committee meeting date. If you are unsuccessful, we will write to you with any feedback from the committee together with details of the appeals procedure.
NB: Engineers may also be eligible to apply for Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer. Please visit the pages on registration for details.

*All members who have or will be reaching normal retirement age in 2017 are entitled to pay subscriptions at the Baseline Rate.
