The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) aims to play a leading role in influencing opinion on aerospace matters though raising the profile of aeronautical engineering in the press, producing policy papers on important issues and working with decision makers to maximise the value of aerospace to the economy and society.
The aim of our policy briefings is to stimulate public debate and influence decision makers and opinion formers with expert advice on and practical solutions for the latest aerospace challenges.
Our policy work involves providing independent policy analysis and expert advice to the UK Government and other political parties in Parliament, as well as industry regulators and European Union institutions. We aim to be at the heart of aerospace policy and decision making.
We regularly produce a wide range of authoritative and informative policy products, from policy briefings to consultation responses and select committee submissions, to inform decision makers and provide practical solutions.
Our analysis and advice is drawn from the wealth of expertise within our membership and the wider aerospace community.
We also hold a variety of public policy related events that bring together aerospace experts and key political figures. Please see the Events section of our website for more information.
The RAeS press office is on hand to help with press and media enquiries. We can provide comment on a wide range of aerospace and aeronautical engineering issues, including air defence, civil aviation, flight safety, space, unmanned flight, and education and careers.
We can provide policy research, facts and figures, and photos, and we have a number of expert spokespeople available for interview.
