50 delegates representing over 30 RAeS Branches attended the 104th Branches Conference on the 9/10th May. The conference took place in Derby and was kindly hosted by the Derby Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
During the conference, delegates were invited to contribute to discussions and consider the priorities and initiatives to be addressed by their representatives on the Branches Committee over the next 12 months. Presentations were delivered on a diverse range of subjects covering areas such as recruitment and Branch best practice. As part of the conference itinerary, delegates also enjoyed visits to the Rolls-Royce Technology Centre and Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust.
President-Elect Bill Tyack brought proceedings to a close, by first of all thanking Rolls-Royce for its support and also the Derby Branch for organising such an excellent conference. He then brought to delegate's attention the 2 main themes he wants to concentrate on during his Presidential year namely membership engagement and recruitment. Thanking all the speakers and delegates Bill Tyack then paid tribute to the work of the Branches and recognised the contribution the many Branch volunteers make in delivering the objectives of the Society.
