As we kicked off the celebrations for our 150th anniversary year, we also entered a new era for our prestigious publication, The Aeronautical Journal.

We are delighted to now be partnering with Cambridge University Press in the production of the Journal.  While we continue to manage a rigorous peer review and editorial process, we are working with Cambridge University Press to ensure that the Journal reaches the appropriate audience, and benefits from their considerable experience in academic publishing.

Sponsored by Airbus, the first edition of The Aeronautical Journal published by Cambridge University Press is a special 150th anniversary edition.  In this issue, we publish papers from key figures from across the aeronautical community who have made significant contributions to the field of aerospace, and the result is a very special overview  of aerospace past, present and future.

We invite you to read the foreword of this edition, by Editor-in-Chief Professor Peter Bearman.

A printed copy of this special edition may be purchased at a cost of £10, including postage and packaging. If you would like to place an order, please email your request to
