Airbus has released a Global Market Forecast which predicts that China will need over 7,400 new passenger and freight aircraft over the next 20 years.

This will comprise 6,180 single aisle aircraft, 870 mid-range smaller wide-bodies and long-range single-aisle aircraft, 240 large and 130 extra-large aircraft. The growth in the number of Chinese flying is expected to triple by 2037, with China becoming the leading country for passenger air traffic in both domestic and international markets.
