Financially troubled Nigerian carrier Arik Air has been taken by the country’s state asset management body, the Assets Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON).

The carrier, which is currently been run by a receiver, currently has eight aircraft grounded and has been suffering from cancellations and delays. The Nigerian government claims that Arik has debts of 300bn naira ($9.5m), much of which is owed to the government.
