NASA is partnering with 58 US student teams in a project to launch nearly 100 high-altitude balloons to capture live footage of an eclipse of the Moon on 21 August which will cover 12 states from Oregon to South Carolina.

Each balloon launched in the Eclipse Ballooning Project will carry two cameras to transmit photos and video to a ground station, a location tracking satellite modem and a payload for a science project.
