Sikorsky is to partner with Australian companies Kaan Air and StarFlight Australia to convert ten former US military UH-60 Black Hawk utility helicopters to aerial firebombing and disaster relief configurations.

The ten Blackhawks will go to Australia in early 2018 where they will be upgraded with new General Electric T700 engines, upgraded gearboxes, a Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) and a general overhaul. The A$63m deal includes options for 10 additional UH-60s.
