Contemporary RAF rotorcraft operations can be very challenging; with the need for personnel to be regularly deployed on front line operations in inhospitable environments. The 2013 Alan Bristow Memorial Lecture heard Sqn Ldrs Reed and Muldoon, and Sgt Willoughby share their experiences and highlight their individual roles as they took us on a journey encompassing today's military rotorcraft operations, particularly working with the latest technology Merlin helicopter.

Squadron Leader Katie Muldoon MEng(Hons) MPhil(Cantab) MRAeS is a Senior Engineering Officer currently service at HQ JHC. Sgt Kate Willoughby is a Merlin flight crew member currently serving on 78 Squadron.
