Cool Aeronautics goes from strength to strength

First launched in 2007, Cool Aeronautics is the Royal Aeronautical Society’s primary school outreach programme which aims to introduce children to the fascinating world and people of flying, aerospace engineering and space. Cool Aeronautics is the only specialist aerospace and aviation outreach programme for primary schools and demonstrates the Society’s commitment to taking a practical approach to encourage STEM interest and careers in the aerospace and aviation industries.

The programme has continued to grow over the last 10 years with regular annual events internationally and each year we see increased engagement with primary schools and industry. 2016 was our most successful year to date with 2,120 students participating in events across the UK and around the world.

To help this continued growth, we are delighted to announce that AAR have generously offered their support by sponsoring Cool Aeronautics for the next three years. This support will help provide valuable additional resources to support the increased number of events we have planned, target new schools and grow the programme’s international outreach.

We thank AAR for their generous support and look forward to working with them to provide a ‘through life’ approach to careers and outreach activities and continue to raise young people’s aspirations through aviation and aerospace.
