The Pan-European defence procurement agency OCCAR has announced that international partners have reached a milestone in defining the European MALE (Medium Altitude Long Endurance) UAV.

The project, formerly known as Euro MALE2020 and involving Airbus Defence, Dassault and Leonardo has settled on a twin-turboprop configuration for the UAV. The next development phase is scheduled to begin in 2018, with a projected in-service date of 2025.
