Asia-Pacific operator Garuda Indonesia has reported an increased six month operating loss to $215m, compared to a loss of $63.6mn in 1H 2016.

The airline attributed the loss to an increase in expenses from flight operations, MRO, airport, ticketing and marketing, passenger services, and administration costs, as well as problems with foreign exchange, tax benefits, and cash flow hedging.
