The IAG group which operates Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia and Vueling, has announced a 29% rise in profits for 2016 to €1.95bn.

Total revenues fell by 1.3% to €22.57bn. IAG CE Willie Walsh said that the group had been “affected by an adverse currency impact of €460m due to the weak pound following the Brexit referendum.” Meanwhile, BA mixed fleet crew have announced a seven-day strike in March in protest against low pay.
