The Indian DGCA aviation regulatory authority is investigating two incidents involving problems with Pratt & Whitney PW1100G geared turbofan-powered Airbus A320neos operated by IndiGo and GoAir.

Each airline has reported recent issues involving the P&W engines, with IndiGo replacing an engine on 18 February following warnings from the engine management system. According to reports, the DGCA will be examining aircraft with over 1,000 flight hours after metal chips were found in engine oil which may be related to degradation in the engine’s bearings.
