The Sino-Pakistani two-seat variant of the CAC/PAC JF-17B fighter made its maiden flight on 27 April.

As well as a second seat, the JF-17B features a dorsal fuselage spine, enlarged nose for an AESA radar and new fly-by-wire system. The Pakistan Air Force now operates five squadrons of JF-17s and the type has won export deals from Myanmar and Nigeria.
