Airbus has resumed its Perlan Mission II attempt to fly a glider to the edge of space.

The Perlan 2 team has returned to Argentina where it flew the pressurised glider to a height of 32,500ft. Over the next two months, the Airbus-sponsored team sponsored will attempt to ride on stratospheric rising air currents to break the world gliding altitude record of 50,72ft, set by Perlan 1 in 2006. A similar attempt was made by Perlan 2 last year but failed to break the record.
