An agreement for Poland to acquire US Patriot missile defence systems has run into problems after disagreement over technology transfers.

The Polish Ministry of National Defence has threatened to call off the deal if the US does not let them have access to new technology. Poland has asked for two of the batteries to include Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS) by 2019 - a system which the US Army will not be using until 2022.
