Qatar Airways has been to forced to re-route flights after Saudi Arabia, Bahrain,  Egypt, the UAE and Yemen blocked access to its airspace after an escalating diplomatic crisis caused a split between Doha and its neighbours.

The airline has also closed offices in Saudi Arabia and UAE which have cut diplomatic ties with Qatar. Meanwhile other airlines, such as Emirates Etihad and FlyDubai have also axed services to Dubai – as well as banning Qatari nationals and residents from their flights. Australian flag carrier Qantas too has banned Qatari nationals from boarding flights that stop in Dubai.
