Commenting on the publication today of the Airports Commission’s final report, Simon Whalley, Head of Policy and Public Affairs, said:
“After almost three years of important, exhaustive analysis and extensive consultation, it is a significant moment to see the independent Airports Commission’s final report to Government in black and white.
“Ministers should now make a decision on the Commission’s recommendations as a matter of urgency in order to deliver as quickly as possible a vital national asset that will support a modern, internationally-competitive economy and globally-connected society, as well as help to achieve important environmental goals.
“Royal Aeronautical Society members possess significant expertise in all aerospace disciplines and stand ready to work with the Government, opposition parties and others to help create the best possible outcomes from an additional runway”.
