Raytheon has withdrawn from the US Air Force T-X trainer contract which it was competing for with Leonardo with the Leonardo T-100, based on the Aermacchi M-346 advanced trainer.

Raytheon explained the two companies were unable to reach a business agreement that was in the best interest of the US Air Force. The competition is also being competed for by Boeing and Saab, Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin/Korea Aerospace Industries.
