New Zealand’s Rocket Lab has revealed the cause of the failure behind its Electron rocket test of 25 May.

Though the rocket made it into space and reached 224km, it did not reach orbit due to an “independent contractor’s ground equipment issue” namely misconfiguration of third-part-telemetry equipment. Rocket Lab’s second Electron rocket, named ‘Still Testing’ is expected to roll out to the launch pad in around eight weeks.
