The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has issued an emergency directive requiring operators of Leonardo Helicopters AW169 and AW189s to inspect tail rotor servo-actuators. Leonardo has also issued an emergency service bulletin advising operators of the AW169 to check the installation and functioning of the same component. The warning follows the fatal crash of an AW169 in Leicester on 27 October, although the cause of that accident is still under investigation and has not yet been identified.
