Operators of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 regional jet have grounded some of their aircraft while inspections are carried out following recommendations from a Russian airworthiness directive.

The inspections followed the discovery by Sukhoi of a defect in the stabiliser attachment bands on the tail of one aircraft. The Superjet grounded include those operated by Aeroflot and Iraero in Russia, as well as Interjet in Mexico. Defective parts on the aircraft are expected to have all been replaced by the end of January.
