On 20 April, a Soyuz MS-04 lifted off from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan with two crew to join three members of Expedition 51 already on the ISS.

The launch of the reduced two-crew Soyuz with, Fyodor Yurchikhin (Roscomos) and Jack Fischer (NASA) is because of Russia’s desire to save money by limiting its ISS crew to two, instead of three this year, ahead of a new Russian module being attached to the station.
