Capt Eric Melrose ‘Winkle’ Brown CBE, DSC, AFC, KCVSA, PhD Hon FRAeS, RN is a former test pilot who has flown 487 different types of aircraft; more than anyone else in history. He also holds the record for the most aircraft carrier landings performed and is the Fleet Air Arm’s most decorated living pilot. Capt Brown is also of course a past-President of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

Having kindly agreed to allow the use of his name for the FAA Yeovilton  Branch annual named lecture, the Branch were delighted that Capt Brown also agreed to deliver the inaugural lecture.

The lecture duly took place on 29th July in the Concorde Hall at the Fleet Air Arm Museum. Capt Brown delivered a fantastic lecture detailing highlights from his life in aviation and received a standing ovation from the 400 people present.

The video recording of the lecture has now been uploaded to the RAeS website. Watch it now on our website by clicking the link below or download it from the AeroSociety Podcast on iTunes.
