An exclusive interview with the head of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Tony Tyler. On 24 July, the Director General and CEO of the International Air Transport Assocation (IATA) Tony Tyler, delivered the RAeS Air Law Group's Beaumont named Lecture on 'The Power of Flight'. We took the opportunity to catch up with him to ask about airline alliances, the future of Europe's ETS carbon trading scheme and passenger sharing data and privacy issues. He also gives his thoughts on the future pilot shortage question and notes that in fact, it may be a shortage of engineers that air transport industry should be more concerned about. Mr Tyler also issues a plea to governments to "think before you regulate" and consult with aviation stakeholders. Watch our exclusive video interview below.
